Myself and the director, Martin Berry, knew we wanted to create a full jungle with lots of hanging tendrils and layers of foliage so the actors would look fully immersed. There are numerous locations within the jungle but the action needed to flow quickly between all of them. The design of the council rock set pieces and ground foliage were inspired by a Mughal painting of the Indian Jungle. The costumes were all inspired by traditional Indian costume. The theatre is Lakeside, Nottingham. Set build and Photography by Mark James. Lighting by Christopher Flux.
